Spring Joint Application Open in March 

This spring, there are no entirely new degree programs, but there are new developments in study formats and practical learning environments. 

In Kotka, the new maritime simulation environments have been completed on the newly opened campus. Students in will be able to practice hands-on skills in exceptionally diverse and modern facilities. The simulators cover training for ship deck, engine, and electrical departments, maritime traffic control, emergency management and leadership, as well as cargo handling on ships and in ports. In addition, virtual environments and integrated classroom and instructor spaces are utilized in training. 

In Kouvola, students of the evolving field of food technology will begin their studies in the newly opened FoodLab, a food technology laboratory. The laboratory includes a product development kitchen, a process hall resembling a food production facility, and laboratory spaces for food chemistry and microbiology.  

In Mikkeli, the Business Administration bachelor’s degree program is once again available as full-time studies after a few years’ break. 

In Savonlinna, the bachelor’s degree program in Business management, Safety and Security  will be offered for the first time as a blended learning program, providing more flexibility for students, including those working alongside their studies. Furthermore, after a few years’ break, a separate application option is available for the Electrical and Automation Engineering program. 

Application Schedule 

The application period is open from March 11 to March 25, 2025, at www.opintopolku.fi. The application closes at 3:00 PM on the last day. Admission results will be announced by July 3, and studies will begin in August–September 2025.
