The three cornerstones of RDI impact model strive from our vision: year 2030 Xamk has renewed the vitality of South-Eastern Finland together with our partners and working life.
By describing the desired future, the impact model describes the goal for our RDI activities as well as what kind of society we are aiming for.
In 2030, Xamk will be the most important partner for companies in their sustainability leap. Natural resources will be utilised in an exemplary manner in South-Eastern Finland.

Our work aims to increase the degree of raw material processing, as a result of which the companies produce higher added value and using natural resources more sustainably. Hence, the research is developing existing and creating new business.
We develop solutions for sustainable co-existence between humans and the environment. In particular, the management of material flows and the utilisation of environmental monitoring data are at an advanced stage. The solutions attract international interest and Xamk’s experts play an important role in the local application of these solutions.
In addition, Xamk develops solutions for the post-growth world to protect the environment and safeguard human well-being. By protecting the environment, the basic conditions for a good life are guaranteed for future generations as well. The economic growth in the area is on an environmentally sustainable basis.
