Logistics and Seafaring
Logistics and maritime R&D activities are mainly carried out through national and international research and development projects. We work with all modes of transport.
Strong trailblazer in logistics
Our expertise is strong in port, railway, road and air logistics. We focus on our RDI activities, e.g. in the development of transport systems and supply chains.
We strive to reduce the environmental impact of logistics so that cost efficiency remains at a good level. RDI team of seafaring cooperates with authorities in long-term oil spill response preparedness development by creating spill response contingency plans and testing and training response techniques.
Air transport research is concentrated in NELI, North European Logistics Institute. We cooperate annually with 150 organizations in versatile research and development projects.

Railway Logistics
We participate in the further development of logistics hubs and the dry port concept and the promotion of combined transport in cooperation with other operators in the field.
Green Transition in Logistics
The aim of the activity is to research and develop solutions to reduce the environmental impact of different modes of transport.
We are involved in developing a more sustainable transport systems in the Xamk region.

We are a pioneer in oil spill response know-how. We develop preparedness for spills of hazardous substances and offer oil spill response research, testing and training services.
