Prototyping and testing of products and materials
Our experts carry out demanding mould design and manufacture, prototypes and pilot series.
Smaller carbon footprint – a more diversified use of wood and the promotion of a circular economy
To support product design
With decades of experience, we make small and medium-sized moulds and dies for the wood, furniture, metal and reinforced plastic industries. We use CNC machining centres, digitisation and modern woodworking machinery to make moulds and dies.
Our versatile woodworking machinery is flexible enough to produce new prototypes and test batches, for example. Mechanical testing of materials for new products helps in product development, ensuring both market suitability and quality for existing products.
We manufacture engineered wood products, such as LVL, CLT and plywood products, from customers’ test materials.
Our compression equipment allows programming of pressure and heating cycles for simulation of production processes.
The comprehensive research facilities at Mikpolis Research Unit enable a wide range of tests that can be used in product development, product quality monitoring and complaint investigations.
The most common equipment used by Mikpolis for prototyping:
CNC equipment:
- CMS tool centre
- for wood, plastic and composite materials
- machining volume: 1500 x 3000 x 600 mm3
- Bridgeport VMC800
- for metal, wood, plastic and composite materials
- machining volume:400 x 600 x 350 mm3
Presses:
- Harko
- press area: 800 x 1300 mm2
- maximum temperature 160 °C
- Orma
- press area: 1500 x 3000 mm2
- maximum temperature 135 °C
- Polystat S200
- press area: 250 x 250 mm2
- maximum temperature 250 °C
We also have at our disposal the most common woodworking machines in the wood industry.
