Mikpolis is a research, development and innovation centre located on the Mikkeli campus of Xamk University of Applied Sciences of South-Eastern Finland. We support our customers’ RDI activities and expertise in the fields of materials and manufacturing technology. We have expertise and experience in mechanical, material and manufacturing engineering of more than two decades.

Our testing and analysis work is mainly carried out according to ISO and/or ASTM standards or tailored to customer requirements. We are constantly developing our activities to meet customer needs. We also use external quality assurance.

We work with impregnation, drying and heat modification of wood material on an industrial scale. Our services include process optimisation, chemical testing and sample handling according to customer requirements.


Our experts carry out demanding mould design and manufacture as well as prototypes and pre-production series.
