CE marking services
Since 2013, KymiLabs has been approved by the Ministry of the Environment to act as a Notified Body and carry out type testing of continuously heated sauna stoves for CE marking.
We are one of the few notified bodies in Finland authorised to carry out these type tests.
KymiLabs tests continuously heated sauna wood stoves for CE marking
The tests required for CE marking are carried out by Notified Bodies in accordance with EU legislation. The register of Notified Bodies is maintained throughout the EU and their activities are strictly regulated and monitored. The body must be independent and impartial in its assessments.
KymiLabs’ testing activities are based on decades of experience and extensive research and development. An exceptionally comprehensive range of equipment and strong expertise in performing emission measurements in the most demanding applications and conditions also support CE marking services.
In the background of our high-quality services is accreditation from the FINAS Finnish Accreditation Service. We are an accredited testing laboratory T197 / SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025 as well as a Notified Body NB 2450. You can find out more about our accredited scope of competence on the FINAS Accreditation Service website.
KymiLabs also offers a wide range of emission measurement, noise measurement and concrete testing services. Find out more about our other services and our research and development activities!
Type testing of continuously heated, woodburning sauna stoves
As an impartial testing body, we ensure that products placed on the market meet the requirements for CE marking.
EU Construction Products Regulation 305 also requires woodburning stoves to be CE marked. CE marking allows the sale of wood-burning stoves throughout the European Economic Area.
CE marking is the manufacturer’s declaration that the product meets the requirements for safety, health, environmental and consumer protection.
It is our job to check that the characteristics of the heater meet the requirements of the applicable product standard. Type testing involves measuring and reporting on issues such as efficiency, performance and emissions. Other aspects such as safety in use are also tested.
