Co-funded by the EU Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment

Draw and hold power

The impact of the project will improve the matching of skills needs, personnel skills and training provision in the welfare area.

This is what we do!

For the future

The project is part of a larger consortium on the future of nursing and nursing work, which operates in three provinces (South Savo, North Savo and Central Finland). Etelä-Savo focuses in particular on knowledge and education through three projects that develop guidance and support in addition to knowledge and foresight. All the projects are implemented individually but they enhance the common theme through collaboration.

This will be great!

The main measures

Co-operation between different training providers and the welfare area create a whole set of skills development in the care sector in Etelä-Savo.

Project offer many new training possibilities and working life-oriented implementation methods.

The aim

The aim of the project is to influence the availability of care workers now and in the future by developing anticipation, skills and cooperation in South Savo towards an ecosystem-based approach. The aim is also to increase regional traction and grip power through attractive training and career paths.

The project is based on the concerns about the future of the care sector in South Savo. In Finland, there is a huge shortage of labour in the sector, which, combined with the declining attractiveness of the sector, has led to a serious situation. There has also been a decline in the number of applicants to education for several years.

The project will be implemented by South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences Oy (Xamk), Welfare area of Etelä-Savo (Eloisa), Etelä-Savo Education Ltd (Esedu) and the Federation of Education Municipality in Eastern Savo (Samiedu).

Co-operation between different training providers and the welfare area will create a whole set of skills development in the care sector in Etelä-Savo, a knowledge ecosystem consisting of new training possibilities and working life-oriented implementation methods, a training and career path model in the health sector and anticipating training and skills needs in collaboration.
