AIDA

With the help of artificial intelligence, the information contained in digital archives can be examined, described, searched, and utilized in new ways.

Goal

Promoting the automatic extraction of information and recognizing content meanings.

Description

Securing growing amounts of data for future generations and ensuring their usability requires new types of technological solutions to be sustainable. Among user organizations, there has been found to be a real need for both the text and its contained meanings to be identified reliably enough. The project develops automatic content analysis of digital materials, enhancing the description of materials and creating valuable search and combination possibilities for end users with ontology and artificial intelligence. When ontological tags are obtained for archived materials, searches can be better targeted to desired material contents and the potential for utilization increases. This also opens up new opportunities in civil society, business, and RDI activities.
