Battery Industry Training Cluster
A multi-level, working-life-oriented training model to support responsible battery production and sustainable electrification will be developed in cooperation with 2 and 3 degrees and the university.

Key measures of the project
Develop a multi-level, working-life-oriented education model for the competence needs of responsible battery production and sustainable electrification in cooperation with vocational level 2 and 3 and universities.
A preparatory study will be carried out to identify the regional educational needs of different levels of education.
Promote the development of a working life-oriented model of continuing education for teachers (teachers’ periods of working life).
Close cooperation with the RDI project.
Close cooperation is carried out in the ERDF-funded project The RDI cluster of the battery industry in South-Eastern Finland, which explores the potential of the battery industry and the need for measurement and testing services in the region and builds two RDI environments to meet the needs of companies.
There will be close cooperation between the projects from the point of view of content development rather than in communication and information activities.
What are we aiming to?
Finland’s national battery strategy aims to promote Finland’s rise to the forefront of responsible battery production and sustainable electrification by 2025. The battery strategy also strengthens the renewal, innovation, growth capacity of companies and value chains, thereby creating new jobs. The vision raises international operators in the field to Finland. Long-term work has been done in South-Eastern Finland to support the battery value chain in the Power Coast United – South-Eastern Finland battery cluster project.
The education project of the South-Eastern Finland Battery Cluster will carry out a preparatory study to identify the regional education needs related to the battery sector at different levels of education and develop an oni-level, working life-oriented education model for the competence needs of responsible battery production and sustainable electrification in cooperation with vocational level 2 and 3 and universities. In addition, the project will promote the development of a working life-oriented teacher’s continuing education model, which will strengthen cross-sectoral cooperation.
