Small port every 30 miles apart

The basic idea of the project is to establish a ring of well developed small ports as a precondition for lively water tourism in the Eastern GoF. This is a question where cross-border cooperation is essential. In order to increase the number of boaters there is a need for suitably equipped ports for within every 30 miles. The suggested new ring of ports around the Eastern GoF will create an attractive entirety which is known to be in the interest of boaters. The services of the ports should be well-known and all information related to accessibility clearly presented. The most important element, which is noticed is the fact that any these small ports alone is solely too tiny to receive enough visibility. Together the new network will be interesting enough to receive more attention from the potential visitors.

Results

The main result of the project is targeted to have increased service level in the ports. The small ports included in the cooperation are 1) Guest Marina of the Porvoo City, 2) Laivasilta Marina in Loviisa City 3) Kotka Old Port Marina, 4) Tervasaari Port at Hamina City, 5) Klamila Port at Virolahti municipality, 6) Keihässalmi Port at Pyhtää municipality, 7) Seaplane Harbor in Tallinn, 8) Leppneeme Port and 9) Kelnase Port in Viimsi, 10) Eisma Port, 11) Narva City port and 12) Narva-Joesuu Port.
Co-operation will increase the attraction of the region and rise up the level of general consciousness. By this way success of selected investments and development activities in small ports can be guaranteed also in the future. The suggested new ring of ports around the Eastern GoF will create an attractive entirety which is known to bein the interest of boaters.
