What
By developing construction site safety and management interaction the project aims to improve work safety competence of the construction industry in the cross-border area, in order to increase the productivity of the industry as well as reduce social cost and human suffering.
For Whom
For the top management, middle management and occupational safety experts of small and medium-sized construction companies in South-East Finland and the St. Petersburg area.
Why
By increasing management-level safety expertise, it is possible to reduce accidents and increase overall productivity on a construction site.

From November 1st 2018 to October 30th 2021
Who
LAB University of Applied Sciences (LAB) as the main partner. Other partners are South-East Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk), St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (GASU) and Pushkin Leningrad State University (LSU).
How
The measures are divided between four work packages.
Workpackage 1 (Xamk & LSU)
Xamk produces guidelines for the top management to improve motivation and attitude towards occupational safety at construction sites.
LSU studies the organizational, psychological and cultural factors that affect occupational safety on construction sites in Northwest Russia.
Workpackage 2 (LAB)
LAB studies the occupational safety work of on-site managers and safety experts on a construction site, and developes a training program that takes into account cultural and individual differences in the interaction between middle management and employees.
Workpackage 3 (GASU)
GASU builds an interactive training environment, an occupational safety park in St. Petersburg, where the results of work packages 1 and 2 are implemented in occupational safety training.
Workpackage 4 (all)
The result of work packages 1-3 will be put into practice through various workshops, trainings and publications considering different target groups.
