Idea refinery
The aim is for companies and entrepreneurs to learn to recognise how new technology or creative processes can solve problems and create new business opportunities.
We empower enterprises to make use of existing networks and resources in order to disseminate innovations to a wider audience.
We are building a service to help startups, innovators, and inventors to grow.
Research, development and innovation (RDI) is an essential part of the development of new ideas, technologies and products.
As RDI investments increase, both the public sector and companies invest more resources in research, development and innovation. This contributes to new innovations, improved productivity and increased competitiveness.
The main measures of the project
The project is divided into the following five work packages:
- WP1) Koordination
- WP2) Creating conditions
- WP3) National co-operation
- WP4) Regional activation
- WP5) Communication
Of these, strengthening national cooperation and linking to the national idea refinery model are the coordination responsibility of the Finnish Invention Foundation, while studies and rapid experiments targeted at the Kymenlaakso region are mainly Xamk’s responsibility for implementation.
As a result of the work, tools and operating models that can be expanded from Kymenlaakso region to the national level will be identified and, on the other hand, the national idea refinery model and related tools will be implemented in Kymenlaakso region.
