NEW KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, METHODS AND PRACTICES GENERATED BY THE PROJECT
Knowledge of the specific issues of occupational safety and health legislation in onshore oil spill response.
- Description of the work process, work and working methods of the personnel involved in onshore oil spill response.
- Knowledge of the health hazards of the working environment for persons involved in onshore oil spill response.
- Knowledge of the occupational safety and health impacts of coastal oil spill response in previous major oil spills.
- Knowledge of the ergonomic stresses of onshore oil spill response and guidelines for reducing them.
- A model for hazard identification methodology for onshore oil spill response.
The results of the project have been published as part of the SÖKÖ II oil spill response manual, in booklet 5 (In Finnish).
The project was supervised by Lecturer Liisa Korpivaara from the Department of Health and Emergency Care.
