Applied research
The purpose of the project named NextGenMix is to create knowledge and know-how-base as well as strengthen the applied research in the sector of paper-, board- and fiber-composite innovations. As the actions, Xamk Fiber Laboratory, in co-operation with the industrial network, the chemical and process technological methods will be researched in terms of process chemicals, additives and microfibrillated cellulose for rapid and evenly mixing to high-speed fiber-stock flows.
Furthermore, the developed concepts will be verified in terms of carbon efficiency and water-, energy- and chemical consumption.
Also new analysis methods will be researched and applied in the project. Furthermore, the developed concepts will be verified in terms of carbon efficiency and water-, energy- and chemical consumption.
Project actions:
TP 1 Mapping of mixing technologies
TP 2 Biocircular economy fibres for new bioproducts – mixing studies
TP 3 Chemical co-mixing studies
TP 4 Optimisation studies of wet strength adhesives with effective mixing
TP 5 Application of new measurement and analysis methods to verify effective mixing performance
