Educational Cooperation for Climate Expertise in the Land Use Sector, KOMIO
The aim was to strengthen the climate expertise of the land use sector, especially in the following target groups: agricultural and forestry entrepreneurs, advisors, teachers, natural resource students and other target groups interested in the theme
Objectives
The aim of the project was to compile and implement the results of the RDI projects of universities of applied sciences related to sustainable agricultural production, especially projects funded from Hiilestä Kiinni package, and to take them to AgriHub and other communication channels used by target groups in a coordinated manner and to utilise them from there.
The project had excellent conditions for cooperation between educational institutions and researchers, as the participating universities of applied sciences carry out both natural resource education and RDI activities.
Strengthening the climate expertise of the land use sector, especially in the following target groups: agricultural and forestry entrepreneurs, advisors, teachers, natural resource students and other target groups interested in the theme.
- The compilation and implementation of the results of projects in the land use sector to a wider group of agricultural and forestry entrepreneurs and advisors and to the teaching of polytechnics
- Ensuring up-to-date learning provision in the land use sector
- Strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions in the field of natural resources
- The strengthening of Agrihub’s role in knowledge sharing, especially among RDI actors, teaching staff and students linked to the natural resources sector of universities of applied sciences.
- Clarification of the profile of the natural resource sector in universities of applied sciences
The project will be implemented as a joint project of nine universities of applied sciences. The main coordinator of the project is Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK) and the co-executors are HAMK, JAMK, Karelia, Lapland UAS, Novia, OAMK, Savonia and Xamk.
Key measures of the project
The project compiles study materials and study modules on the results of the RDI activities of universities of applied sciences in the field of natural resources, especially projects funded by the Carbon Capture project. The implementation of the results is promoted so that the information is available in the native language in the channel and forums that the target group is used to using. The materials are taken to higher education institutions’ study offerings, for example to a platform for continuous learning. In addition, the results are communicated in a coordinated manner in large networks as well as on the AgriHubi platform and other communication channels. In addition, the network cooperation of universities of applied sciences and the compilation of teaching materials promote the profiling of the natural resource sectors of universities of applied sciences.
