Common steps towards inclusion and partnership

We create new ways of working for people’s social participation, increasing their working life skills and promoting their own life management.

We take steps forward together.

We are developing new ways for cooperation and social inclusion

There is a need for new approaches and models for promoting social inclusion among individuals who are at risk of social exclusion in Kouvola.

Common steps towards inclusion and partnership project will create new ways for people in difficult situations to manage their lives and integrate more fully into society, and to increase their skills and employability.

Municipalities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have important role in promoting social inclusion, mental health and wellbeing. These includes working life skills, wellbeing at work, hobbies and other activities.

We will compile the services into a digital service map.

We will develop a new model for co-operation between city of Kouvola and non-governmental organisations. New model will foster possibilities and encourage participation in among those who are at risk of exclusion.

New model helps to bring different organisations together and to coordinate co-operation. Services will be gathered into digital service map which will make it easier to find and participate different activities.

Objectives

1) We will support and encourage people by increasing equality, social inclusion and employment. This includes especially encouraging the use of digital and everyday sustainable development.

2) We will create a new operating model between the organisations and the municipality. This will help define the actors’ roles and tasks, as well as the necessary resources for the activation of individuals and population groups.

3) We will build a common development platform between the operators, using e.g. gamification elements and digitality, which brings actors together and creates a strong foundation for joint action and new ways of working.

Key actions

Xamk is in the role of partial implementation. Xamk’s  measures are taken to goals 2 and 3. Xamk’s measures promote service design methods, gamification elements and digitality.

  • SERVICE DESIGN: Xamk implements a service design process and the results will serve the development of a new operating model. As part of the service design process, the effects of the project’s operations on the field of organisations are evaluated during the project, after it and in the long term.

  • SERVICE MAP: As part of the new operating model, an agile and user-oriented service map will be developed. Organisations and their activities are easily found on the digital service map. We will use in the development process the previously developed service map for young people (Kouvola).

  • LIVING LAB: In development process is applied Living Lab method. This refers to research, development and innovation actions in real-life environments. Living Lab combines the experience of service users and the expert knowledge of professionals.
