Boosting Entrepreneurship by Otsakorpi Foundation

The project aimed at lowering barriers to entrepreneurship and giving tangible support to early stage entrepreneurship.

Objectives

The project supports experimentation of students’ ideas, prototyping, market testing, and customer acquisition by offering easy access project funding. Project produces also a model for Otsakorpi Foundation’s private equity investments in early stage companies in the foundation’s operating region.

Activities

Organize three application rounds for project funding: I autumn 2019, II spring 2020 ja III summer/autumn 2020. Develop a model for Otsakorpi Foundation’s private equity investments in early stage companies together with the Foundation and three universities of applied sciences, Xamk, Karelia, and Saimia. Communicating project funding scheme and Otsakorpi Foundation’s private equity investment opportunities in Xamk’s cooperation networks.

Results

Minimum 60 applications for project funding and minimum 40 funded experimental student-driven projects. Case examples of funded student projects. A model for Otsakorpi Foundation’s private equity investments in early stage companies in its operating region. Minimum one  private equity investment into a early stage company in the Foundation’s operating region.
