Kouvola Hosts Think Track Hackathon in Late January 2025
LUT University (LUT), South-Eastern Finland University (Xamk), Kouvola Innovation (Kinno), and City of Kouvola are pleased to announce the partnership in organizing a Think Track hackathon in Kouvola, with a focus on urban development. The event will bring together 40 student participants from LUT and Xamk for a three-day immersive experience.
In the hackathon, students will have the opportunity to engage in creative problem-solving, fostering innovation and collaboration in the beautiful winter setting of Kouvola. The program includes fun collaboration, evening events, featuring keynotes, mentoring, and presentations.
The aim is to enable students to contribute to the urban development of the Kouvola area by creating new concepts that envision what a successful business in Kouvola will look like in 2035. The event also promotes internationalization, encourages different perspectives, and promotes cooperation between cultures.
Students will be able to enjoy free hotel accommodation and a diverse evening program which allows them to network with other participants. Simultaneously, students also learn a lot about agile development and how to turn ideas into concepts quickly by combining technology and creativity.
“Participating in the Think Track Hackathon were the best three days of me in Finland. It was an amazing experience where I enjoyed the collaborative energy and the chance to work with diverse people dedicated to making a positive impact on Kouvola. The event was all about creativity and teamwork, and it was incredibly rewarding to see our ideas come together in a way that could truly benefit the community,” reflects Muhammad Shaheer, who participated in the event last year.
