Direct application
In addition to Joint application, you can apply to some degree programmes at South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences – Xamk through Direct application.
The Direct application is a convenient way to apply to Xamk from outside Finland, but we welcome applications also from those already living in Finland. The admission in Direct application is based on international admission test results.

How to apply
The admission in the Direct application is only possible based on the international test results described in the admission criteria (SAT for bachelor degrees, GMAT/GRE for master degree). Other exams or tests are not organised and other selection methods are not used in the Direct application.
To be considered for admission in the Direct application, you must
- meet the eligibility requirement for the programme you apply to
- take the SAT for bachelor’s programmes or the GMAT/GRE test for the MBA programme according to the test organiser’s instructions,
- submit your application during the application period, and
- have the result delivered to Xamk from the test organiser by 20 September 2024.
If you have already taken the test before and it meets the requirements for Xamk programmes, you can use your old result by ensuring it is delivered to Xamk by the deadline.

The required test result delivered from the test organiser by 20 September 2024
Admission results published by 25 September 2024.
Offer of admission to be accepted by 28 November 2024 (3 pm Finnish time UTC +2)
- The Early Bird scholarship is available when the offer of admission is accepted within one week from admission, and tuition fee with discount paid within three weeks from admission. Exact deadlines are given in the offer of admission.
Studies begin in January 2025
Admission criteria
Bachelor’s degree programmes
Eligibility requirement
- an upper secondary school level qualification that provides eligibility for higher education studies in the country in question, or
- a prior bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Student selection
Admission is based on SAT test result
- minimum score requirement: 500 from Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and 500 from Mathematics
- applicants are admitted in the order of the best total points
Language requirement
English language skills are confirmed based on the SAT test result. Other language certificates are not required.
International Business Management (MBA)
Eligibility requirement
- a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, or a Bachelor of Hospitality Management degree completed in a university of applied sciences in Finland, or higher education degree in business or economics completed at some other higher education institution in Finland or abroad and
- at least two years of work experience in the relevant field after completing the higher education degree.
Student selection
Admission is based on Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Records Examination (GRE) result
- minimum score requirement: 450 points for the GMAT test. The result for GMAT Focus Edition and GRE test results must be equivalent to the GMAT result.
- applicants are admitted in the order of the best points
Language requirement
English language skills are confirmed based on the GMAT/GRE test result. Other language certificates are not required.
