Separate applications

Separate applications are aimed for specific target groups and have pre-requisites for applying. Continuing previously incomplete studies, completing open UAS path studies, or transferring from one university of applied sciences or programme to another are examples of such applications.

Joint application

  • Check the available programmes: bachelor / master (being updated)
  • You can apply to 1-6 degree programmes in different universities and universities of applied sciences in Finland with the same application form.
  • The application form and attachments are submitted via Studyinfo service.
  • The required attachments are uploaded to the application form. An official translation is required for all documents that are not originally written in English, Finnish or Swedish.
  • The student selection is based on entrance examinations or certificate-based selection for Finnish qualifications.
    • You can apply to many bachelor’s degree programmes by taking one exam (the International UAS Exam).
    • An acceptable language certificate is required for most degree programmes. Check the programme-specific requirements and see list of accepted certificates on UASinfo website.
  • Admission results are published
    • Joint application, spring 2025: on 28 May 2025 at the latest
    • Joint application, autumn 2025: on 20 November 2025 at the latest
    • Joint application, spring 2026: on 27 May 2026 at the latest
  • Deadline for accepting the offer of admission and paying full tuition fee

  • The Early Bird scholarship is available if you accept the offer one week (7 days) from the notice of admission, and pay the tuition fee with 10 % discount within 3 weeks (21 days) from the notice of admission.

Rolling admission

  • Application periods:
    • January 2026 intake: 15 May – 31 August 2025
    • August 2026 intake: 15 November 2025 – 28 February 2026
  • Application closes when the study places reserved for each programme have been filled or on the general closing date at the latest.
  • Check the available programmes: bachelor / master (being updated)
  • You can apply to one degree programme in the Rolling admission procedure.
  • The application form and attachments are submitted via Studyinfo service.
    • Link to application form and is available on Rolling admission website during the application period.
    • The required attachments are uploaded to the application form before submission. An official translation is required for all documents that are not originally written in English, Finnish or Swedish.
  • Students in the Rolling admission process are admitted in the order of submitted, complete applications. The admission result is generally published within three weeks from submitting the complete application.
  • The student selection is based on SAT/GMAT test results or certificate-based selection for non-Finnish qualifications.
  • Deadline for accepting the offer of admission and paying full tuition fee: 3 weeks (21 days) from the notice of admission
  • The Early Bird scholarship is available if you accept the offer one week (7 days) from the notice of admission, and pay the tuition fee with 10 % discount within 3 weeks (21 days) from the notice of admission.

Application fee

Applicants who are not citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee in order to apply to higher education studies. If you are from outside the aforementioned area and you are applying to Bachelor’s or Master’s level studies in Finland, you will need to pay the application fee. The application fee is 100 euros and it is to be paid within 7 days from submitting the application on Studyinfo.

Tuition fees and scholarships

The Finnish higher education institutions charge tuition fees for students outside the EU/EEA area. The fees concern the study programmes conducted in English.

Instructions for paying the tuition fee are given to the admitted student in the offer of admission.

Education agents

Xamk is using education agents to recruit students to our degree and non-degree leading programmes. Agents provide assistance in the application process and possibly in other matters, such as applying for the student visa.

Please note that you can also apply to all Xamk’s degree programmes without using the help of an education agent.

Kotka Archipelago in Finland

Kotka – The sea is our strength

Xamk’s new Kotka campus is located in Kotkansaari, Kantasatama – near the seaside. The campus facilities are designed to be flexible to respond agilely to the new needs of learning, teaching, and working.

About 200 people work and approximately 2,900 people study at the Kotka campus. The campus educates future professionals in engineering, maritime, logistics, as well as social and health care.

Community of active people

Kouvola is a city for active people, in the middle of everything. Life feels exciting and worth living. There is room for people and ideas.

Kouvola campus is a modern campus and it locates near the town centre. It has approximately 1900 students. Every year, Kouvola Campus hosts approximately 200 foreign degree students who study in the international bachelor-level business and game design programmes conducted in English.

Mikkeli

Mikkeli – In the heart of lake Saimaa

Mikkeli Campus is located at a former military base with beautiful buildings and surroundings. It has a truly international atmosphere as there are over 300 foreign students from many different countries on campus every year. There are almost 4500 students and about 400 staff members at the campus all together.

Savonlinna – the historic castle city

The age-old archipelago and castle city, Savonlinna, with its surrounding villages offers so much to see and experience.

Savonlinna campus is located in the heart of the town. Campus provides education in health care and process technology.  In addition, Xamk has two other locations in Savonlinna: FiberLaboratory and 3K-Factory.
