Applicant Numbers for Xamk’s English-Taught Programs Revealed
The most popular program was the Digital International Business program in Kouvola. The next highest number of applicants was for the Information Technology program in Mikkeli. The Nursing programs in Kotka and Savonlinna also attracted a significant number of applicants.
The highest number of applicants came from Bangladesh, Nepal, Finland, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

New Application Method Introduced
There were two application methods. From November to February, almost all programs were available through Xamk’s own Rolling Admission process. In January, all programs were also included in the nationwide Joint Application process.
The newly introduced Rolling Admission at Xamk offers a flexible way to apply, as applications are processed as they arrive, and admission decisions are made quickly. This allows accepted students more time to arrange residence permits and relocation.
– Nationwide, the number of applicants in the Joint Application process was halved, partly due to the introduction of an application fee. Therefore, Xamk’s own admission process played a crucial role in attracting international applicants worldwide, says Vice President Katri Ryttyläinen-Korhonen.
Xamk remains committed to increasing the number of international students.
– In the recently closed application periods, five new English-taught programs were introduced, and eight more are planned for next year. As the number of programs grows, we are also investing in the integration of international students and tailored support services to ensure smooth studies, adds Katri Ryttyläinen-Korhonen.
The studies in English-taught programs will begin in autumn 2025, regardless of the application process used. The next Xamk Rolling Admission for English-taught programs will open in mid-May.
