Broad cooperation in teaching and research
As a member of the European University INGENIUM, we are part of the European higher education community. We are building a broad cooperation in teaching and research with our key European partner higher education institutions. We work towards increased international research funding.
We support education-based migration in our regions. We increase our English-language education and training provision. We promote employment in Finland with sufficient Finnish language studies and work-related cooperation.
We strengthen our activities in the international education market. We make education export a significant part of our business activities.
European University INGENIUM
Xamk is part of the European University INGENIUM, a campus consisting of ten European higher education institutions.
INGENIUM brings knowledge and expertise to the region through joint studies and degrees, research cooperation, information and experience sharing, student exchange, and staff mobility.
Study in English
Xamk offers 8 Bachelor’s Degree programmes and 2 Master’s Degree programmes taught in English.
In addition to full scale degree programmes, we offer a variety of other study possibilities. Xamk offers flexible ways to educate global talents and improve their professional skills as well as employability.
300 partner educational institutions around the globe
With more than 300 partner educational institutions around the globe, South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences sends and receives every year approximately 300 students in the frames of student exchange and double degree programmes.
Xamk encourage all our students to spend a semester or two abroad. We support international mobility as we believe in internationalization!
Although majority of the exchange students come from European countries, we also receive students from all over the world. The wide diversity of students’ countries of origin makes the education process fun and multicultural.
Our students are an asset to employers
In Xamk, the Integration team aims to bring students, locally operating companies and, for example, alumni together in different ways, and to provide relevant information about Finnish working life.
Over 450 international students from various countries study at Xamk every year in different fields of studies.
Field specific knowledge and expertise are not the only value international students offer for companies – they also offer cultural understanding, fresh perspectives, wide networks and diverse language skills.
International students are interested in finding a job in local companies, but also in finding internship, thesis work, project and volunteering opportunities.

Educational Travel
Visiting Xamk gives you an opportunity to get familiarized with Xamk and at least one of our four campuses, which are situated in Southern Savonia (Mikkeli and Savonlinna) as well as in Kymenlaakso (Kouvola and Kotka). You may visit Xamk either for one day, 3-5 days or 10 days.
